TERMS · PLAIN LANGUAGE, HONEST PROMISES

Terms of Use

What you agree to as a member, and what the Foundation promises in return — written to be read, not to be hidden.

DRAFT for founder & legal review — not yet legal advice. This page is a working draft for Bob and Ken to review with counsel. It is not a binding agreement or legal advice, and the placeholders below must be filled in before it is published.

This is a small, welcoming community run by the AiGovOps Foundation, a nonprofit governed by two stewards — Bob Rapp and Ken Johnston. These terms explain what it means to take part. We've kept them short and plain on purpose.

Accepting these terms

By signing in and using the community, you agree to these terms and to our Code of Conduct and Privacy page. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. If you're using it on behalf of an organization, you're confirming you're allowed to agree on its behalf.

Who can join

Membership is by steward approval — a small, deliberate community, not an open sign-up.

Steward-approved members A steward reviews and approves who joins. You'll need a valid email to sign in — there's no password; we send you a one-time link. Keep your access to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has it.

Using the community well

A few simple expectations keep this a good place for everyone.

Be a good neighbor Take part honestly and kindly. Follow the Code of Conduct.
Don't do harm No harassment, hate, spam, scraping, breaking into systems, illegal activity, or trying to get around the safety controls. Don't post other people's private information.

What you share, and how we review it

Members write the posts; stewards keep the place safe.

Your content, our review Posts, comments and replies are yours to write. Anything that could carry risk gets a quick human look from a steward before it goes wide — a safety check, not a judgement of you. Stewards may hold, edit the placement of, or remove content that breaks these terms or the Code of Conduct.

How decisions get made — the Yes-Gate

Every meaningful action runs through a simple gate. The answer is one of three: 1 — go ahead; 0 — stop; or ? — hold for a steward to decide. Agents handle the routine, reversible work; a human makes the calls that can't be undone. That's the whole idea, and it applies to us as much as to you. Read the governance charter.

Who owns what

You keep your work. We only need permission to show it.

Members keep their content What you create stays yours. By posting it here, you give the Foundation a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store and share it within the community so the site can work. You can remove your content or close your account at any time. The AiGovOps name, logo and software remain the Foundation's (the software is open source under its stated license).

The honest disclaimers

We work hard to make this place careful and accountable, but we provide the community "as is." We can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and nothing here is professional, legal, financial or medical advice. To the fullest extent the law allows, the Foundation isn't liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from your use of the site. Some places don't allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. (Counsel to confirm the exact limitation-of-liability language.)

Ending things

You can close your account whenever you like — just ask through Help. A steward may suspend or end access if these terms or the Code of Conduct are seriously or repeatedly broken. Either way, any governance action is written into our signed logbook, so it's open to check.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and, for anything significant, let members know. Carrying on as a member after a change means you accept the updated terms.

A gentle reminder: we will never ask for your password, your bank details, or money. If a message claims to be from us and asks for those, it isn't us — please don't reply, and let us know through Help.

The AiGovOps Foundation builds careful, accountable technology — and we hold ourselves to the same standard here. Questions about these terms?
