This is a friendly, welcoming place. Whether you are online for the first time, getting older, or have a good reason to be careful about your privacy, you belong here. We wrote this page for you.

What we keep

Only the little we need to let you in and let you take part.

Your email address We use it to sign you in and to reach you if something needs your attention. That's all.
What you choose to share A post, a comment, a reply — only the things you decide to write. If you don't share it, we don't have it.
A metadata-only record of your visit So we can understand the journey and make it better, we keep a record of the pages you opened and the buttons you clicked — the where, never the what. We don't log the content you type, read, or see. The founders can review it to help and improve the site; you can ask to see or delete yours; and if your browser sends "Do Not Track," we don't record it.

What we never do

Some promises are easier to keep when they're written down.

We never sell your information Not to advertisers. Not to anyone. You are a member, never a product.
No surprise sharing We won't hand your details to other companies or post your private information. No fine-print tricks.

How we stay honest

Everything important is written down, so nothing can quietly happen behind your back.

A signed logbook of actions When something is done on the site, it is written into a logbook and signed, like a witnessed receipt. That makes every action open to check and easy to hold someone responsible for. See how this protects you.

If something feels wrong

Saw a post that worries you? Someone treating you badly? You can tell us, and a real person will look into it. You don't need the right words — just say what happened.

  1. Use the Report button on any post, or write to us through Help.
  2. A real person on our team reads it. Not a robot — a human who cares.
  3. We look into it calmly and fairly, and we take action when it's needed.
  4. You are protected. We won't reveal that it was you who spoke up.

Your information is yours

You are always in control. Ask any time — there's no catch.

Get a copy of your data Want to see what we have about you? Ask, and we'll send you a plain copy.
Close your account Decided to leave? Tell us, and we'll close your account and remove your personal details.

A gentle reminder: we will never ask for your password, your bank details, or money. If a message claims to be from us and asks for those, it isn't us — please don't reply, and let us know through Help. Take your time. There is no rush, and there are no silly questions.
