For people who believe governance should run like code: versioned, testable, and honest. These standards work the same way. Version 1.0 — July 18, 2026.
The one sentence
Ship safe AI — never unsafe AI: get to yes, stay at yes, recover to yes, and keep the garden of humanity growing. This community exists to do that together, in the open.
The three movements, applied to people
The same law that governs our code governs our conduct:
- Get to yes. Argue to reach something. Disagree with ideas, precisely and with receipts; assume the other person wants safe AI shipped as much as you do. "No" without a reason is not governance — it's noise. Bring the evidence, propose the fix, help the other person get to yes.
- Stay at yes. Trust here is maintained, not assumed. Say what you'll do; do it; say what you did. Cite your sources. Mark speculation as speculation. If you represent an employer or a vendor, say so — inclusion is never endorsement, and ranking can't be bought, in our tools or in our threads.
- Recover to yes. Everyone ships a bad take eventually. When it's yours: own it, correct it, and move on — a correction is a receipt, not a confession. When it's someone else's: help them recover; don't dogpile. We keep a hundred verified AI-harm cases on a shelf precisely because pretending failures won't happen is the only real failure.
The hard lines (verdict 0, no hold)
Some things don't get a "maybe": harassment, hate, or personal attacks; doxxing or publishing anyone's private information; spam, undisclosed shilling, or scraping the community; sexual content or advances; and helping anyone build unsafe AI — deception, unlawful surveillance, harm to people. These end the conversation, and repeat offenses end membership.
How moderation works (governance as code, literally)
- Stewards hold the gate. Moderation actions are taken by stewards and co-founders, and every action produces a signed, metadata-only receipt — the same ledger that governs our agents governs our moderators.
- The verdicts are ours: 1 (fine), ? (held — a steward will talk with you), 0 (removed, with the reason stated). Appeals go to a co-founder; the appeal and its outcome are receipted too.
- Jeeves is an it, an agent of this community, and is governed more strictly than any human here — it proposes, humans decide.
Your data, your rights
- What we keep: what you give us on your profile — name, email, picture, country and city, interests, an optional mobile number — plus your consents, with timestamps. The ledger of receipts records that things happened — what ran, when, and what the gate decided. Where a receipt has to refer to a person it stores a one-way hash, never your address, and anything you typed is reduced to a length. That is enforced in one place every receipt passes through, so it holds for receipts we haven't written yet. One piece of honesty about the past: 31 receipts written between 23 June and 19 July 2026 still contain an email address. We counted them rather than estimating, and that number can never grow — the scrub sits at the one place every receipt passes through. The ledger is append-only, so we cannot edit that history. We chose to document the exception rather than quietly rewrite the record to look better: an append-only log you edit when it embarrasses you is not an append-only log, and tamper-evidence is the whole reason ours is worth anything.
- Why we keep it: to keep the community active and personal — a founder welcomes every member; volunteers get connected to real work. We use it for nothing else, and we never sell it. Analytics on our sites is cookie-less.
- Your controls: edit everything on your profile; unsubscribe from the newsletter and notifications in one click; and the right to be forgotten — delete your account yourself, immediately: your personal fields are purged, your picture deleted, your identity pseudonymized. What remains is the ledger, which from 19 July 2026 holds only a one-way hash where a person is referenced — never an address.
Volunteering
Raise your hand for policy work, the founding circle, or stewardship from your profile. Volunteering is an interest, not an appointment: stewardship is granted only by a co-founder, with a receipt — that's not bureaucracy, that's the product.
Changes to these standards
These standards are versioned like code. Changes ship like code: proposed in the open, approved by a co-founder, receipted, and dated. The current version always lives at this page.
